By India Today Web Desk: Karnataka Assembly Deputy Speaker and three-time BJP MLA, Anand Mamani, passed away late on Saturday night after battling ill health for more than a month.
Mamani, 56, was a diabetic patient and had a liver infection. He was undergoing treatment at Manipal hospital in Bengaluru. Initially, he was shifted to Chennai on the advice of a medical expert for treatment and subsequently, he was shifted to Manipal hospital. He had been in a coma for the past few days.
Mamani was an MLA from the Savadatti constituency.
His mortal remains will be brought to his hometown on Sunday for the public to pay homage.
