Recently, during an exclusive conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, the actress shared some special things related to this festival. In talks, the actress told how she and her husband still have arguments over the issue of bursting firecrackers. Let us know what stories he told-
Kali Puja is performed in a grand manner on the day of Diwali in Kolkata.
Talking about Diwali celebration plans, the actress said – ‘This year I am going to my in-laws’ house in Kolkata to celebrate Diwali because it is a big festival for us. My in-laws are Bengali and they do Kali Puja on Diwali and Lakshmi Puja of the house. We keep a fast for the whole day and in the evening we break our fast by calling a pandit, doing a havan, after completing a big puja, offering food to everyone. These pujas are performed in a grand manner. I wait for this day, whole year.
Now realize that burning of firecrackers hurts nature.
I am a girl from Uttar Pradesh and a lot of crackers are burst there. In childhood, all of us brothers and sisters, cousins and sisters used to burst a lot of firecrackers together. Hands used to burn but the crackers did not stop bursting. Earlier we used to burst with a lot of heart but now it is clear that it hurts our nature and that is why it has stopped bursting now. Now I burn a single sparkler, because these are also customs. My husband is very fond of firecrackers and every time we fight about this topic, although in the end he agrees to my point.
I miss Diwali a lot as a child spent in Uttar Pradesh
In childhood, all of us brothers and sisters used to celebrate this festival together. I remember that childhood when we used to burn twine bombs near our neighbor’s house to disturb his sleep. There was a lot of scolding, we used to cry but it did not improve at all. It was a lot of fun to harass them and then when they were scolded, they used to say who shouts at the festival? Then the next day, collecting the firecrackers that were not lit, they would try to light it again. Many times we were successful, remembering these things, I miss the childhood spent in my home town.
definitely make rangoli
Making Rangoli is an important part of Diwali. No matter how busy I am. I always follow this tradition. At home, in front of the temple and in the courtyard, I definitely make Rangoli. Also, I have decided that I will always celebrate this festival with my family and have been following it for the last many years. Also, I am very foodie, so I fulfill my passion for food during this festival. I love rasgulla, these sweets are definitely made at home on this occasion and I enjoy it wholeheartedly.
