Chinese President Xi Jinping has removed four top officials, including Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, from the leadership of the Communist Party. Now he will not be re-appointed as a Politburo member. The decision has been taken on the last day of the meeting of the Communist Party of China (CCP) which started on 16 October.
During the meeting, the members vote for the new Central Committee. This committee selects the Politburo members. The Central Committee meets after the Congress. In this, the members of the Politburo and the Standing Committee are elected. In this, a total of 4 top officials have been removed from the party leadership.
Jinping also removed his close
Xi Jinping also removed Shanghai Party chief Han Zheng, party advisory head Wang Yang and National People’s Congress chief Li Zhanshu from party leadership. Li Zhanshu is considered very close to Xi Jinping.
CCP meeting ends
The high level meeting of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), which has been going on in Beijing for the last 7 days, ended on Saturday. During this an amendment was approved in the party constitution. This amendment could enhance the leadership of Xi Jinping as the leader of China.
